如何面試

最近與朋友們聊到面試心得，聊到社會新鮮人面試，忽然有感而發，也給未來準備進社會的新鮮人一些面試建議。

首先，「面試」就像是一場戲。面試者努力顯示自己長處，減少短處暴露。面試官努力陳述公司的美好，希望找到公司未來明日之星。以上內容觀察，請記得表演能力是「面試」中的關鍵。

在講建議之前，必須先認真、嚴正說一件事情。新鮮人意即無經驗的員工，但並不代表面試官能糟塌你。如遇到不合理、不尊重面試者的面試官，請堅守自己價值，千萬別委屈自己去接受一份在還沒進去前已經反感的工作。因為一場「戲」在開始就已經有疙瘩了，後面的戲能演嗎?

對面試的建議，放鬆回答、自信、微笑、做功課

面試時，回答要放鬆，勿僵硬，面試官不是殺人犯，他不會殺你。把面試官想成是你父母親，回答雖輕鬆，但要尊重。

面試過程，請充分展現你的自信，切勿畏畏縮縮。回答也請減少語助詞，如「阿、痾、恩、耶、唷」，也減少重複內容，如「我家有三人，媽媽爸爸哥哥，所以有三個人」。

回答與聆聽過程請微笑，切勿哭臉、鬼臉、哭喪臉。面試是場「戲」，但絕對不是鬼片、死人片、殺人片，所以不會有恐怖情節，保持微笑不會突兀。

做功課，面試前請瞭解職務內容、工作技能所需、公司沿革、公司產品、公司產業、公司強項。如面試會計，請至少懂什麼是會計，會計基本原理，對應公司的產品及產業，所需的會計準則會是什麼。瞭解你面試的公司，戲才能演好。

整場「戲」的過程，切勿用請問開頭，用「請教」開頭，面試官不是你下屬，也不需要被你問。新鮮人經驗0，所以是用請教不是請問。

Research Analyst!!!

I left Chinatrust at the midst of April and started to work at a equity research firm in the hope of making tons of money, and of course, this position is my dream job. I remember I told my boss that I shouldn't care that much of my salary as long as I was accepted. And, I got accepted.

I've been working at this firm for few months and visiting many companies for a discussion of industry and capital market with their CEO's or Chairman. By doing so, we've received a lot of information with respect to the visited companies, or currency and global financial market in order to make decision.

Remember the day I arrived at Taiwan in the evening, I told myself I had to get back to USA once having something in my resume. But, I needed to finish my military service first. During the serving time,  I've followed Chris Huang's suggestion to get some Financial certificates, which are approved by our Government. Although they couldn't be a significant, or valuable weapon for me to trigger a war, they are the minimum requirements for me to join the war. I, indeed, took and pass some of them, but failed the most important one. Therefore, I lost the chance to apply a position in equity firms. During the time I'd been looking for an equity research assistant, I got refused due to lack of the one I failed. Because of it, I, in turn, started to look for a position in banking industry. Luckily, I received an offer from Chinatrust with an acceptable pay as well as a well-established 6 months' training program. I've learned a lot of knowledge from it. At the end of training program, I took the final presenting test, which I've had to pick one of reports that I wrote in the program; thereafter, I had to present it with sufficient information, in order to answer questions that exam's committee would ask. If I couldn't answer them correctly, I would probably fail the training program. all of us were working hard to check, to ask, and to discuss "what-if scenarios" that would happen in the final test. One week later, I received a pass notification from HR and was assigned to one of RMs, whom I respect very much. Since then, I've worked overtime almost everyday.

I am afraid losing anyone whom I love very much.
God, please give us a chance to do what we have to do and are able to raise our families up.
I am afraid of seeing my families' crying, because I couldn't do anything for them.
God, please let us overcome this tragedy with given power.
I am afraid of waiting for the result, because it's the reality.
God, please let us go through the road with given signs in this harsh reality.

What shall we do in the lifetime?
Actually, we couldn't do anything according to a great man. That's true.
We've always got nothing to be ready for the war.
When white gentlemen and lady walk out the small room, the only answer we expect is everything done well. Fortunately, we won the first war and have to face more of it. Hope we can always be the winner.

I am not afraid of spending all the money, because I know how to make it.
I am not afraid of taking care of, because that's the best and only way for me to do.
I am not afraid of everything, as long as it is given a chance to try.
Please, God, let us be around its feather peacefully.

It's already been 6 months at CTBC as an ARM. Back to the first date I walked in the office, I was like a kid. Even now, I am still a kid, but at least have something. I've gradually had a little sense of what industry is. Hope I can be much better. At the first week of 2015, I am just like a solder and wait for an arrangement, which I've got no ideas where I will be assigned to.

2014 is actually not a good year for me, especially I've done nothing with my certificated license of equity. Also, I left my military service at January, but got a job at July. Maybe, the best I've done is arranging my best friend to go abroad. Her girlfriend must hate me. Wish she could forgive me, lol.

I don't know when the time is for me to head back to USA, where I plan to obtain a MBA degree. After two years, I can't still make a decision and afraid of making it. It seems like I've lost my courage. Wish I can get it back as soon as possible.

I haven't posted a journal in three months and felt having troubles on English speaking and reading. I am worrying about the issues I have to face when heading back to my second home, and probably pursuing my MBA degree two years later. It is hard for me to write up an Essay logically. I've got no ideas with it and wish I could do it the same as I did it before. Recalling the proverb my high teacher told us is "Practice makes Perfect.," which is fking true. I should have my books with me again and write an Eng103-level essay.

I've worked at Chinatrust as an ARM for three months already. Most of co-workers are very nice and be willing to teach us, even if we were asking stupid questions. In months,  I couldn't help to think why Government has executed many policies to hold back banking industry and to prevent it from growing fast. If against to them, we crash. We would be under arrest just because of looking for one's personal information, whom we had already looked up in our systems. That's the most important we have to be very careful.

In addition to search of one's personal information, we have to write up a research report with a detailed analysis. Before writing, we have to prepare many documents, pursuant to the law. By checking these documents, we can receive some of necessary information, such as savings, account statement, and credit records.  After collecting them, we've got to find industry research paper, called outside resources. When these documents are ready, we've got to prepare PPT for rating and Annual Review for Credit Situation. Three most important thing are how transactions are going with, what major products borrowers launch at, and financial analysis. While asserting a finish of our PPT, our managers will assign a date for us to visit the borrowers, in order to ask some questions that is hard to figure out. With submitting Credit Analysis to our credit officers, they will check it and give an advice and return it to us, which takes about 2~5 days running the process. Hope I can get it done throughout and accurately.

Job Hunting

After a completion of my military service, I went for a vacation with my best friend. While being at my second home, I'd kept asking myself I shall either look for a job in Taiwan or just stay in America. My plan before going to military service, I was thinking to work at Taiwan for one year, in order to obtain a recommendation letter from my company. Then, I would be able to apply for one of the greatest university that provides a great MBA program. But, it's hard to get in one of them at that time due to the inefficient experiences. After a sequence of discusses and consideration with my parents and relatives, I decided to come back to Taiwan firstly. So, I started to look for a job here with submitting my resumes in 104 and 1111 banks. It's absolutely a hard time for me, or for everyone with a "BLANK-like" resume.

With a consistent researching and submitting, I'd interviewed with great companies for many times. It's my great honor to speak with them and to know what they really want and expect for. In the midst of May, I was successfully accepted by Chinatrust with a position of ARM, which is a challenge and competitive position for "Newers" in real society. Therefore, I am free and stop looking for a job currently, and trying to get myself relaxed by exercising, biking, swimming and traveling. I feel I've got a great luck to get this fantastic position.

By comparing Taiwanese Job market to American one, it's a quite different, especially for respect.In America, it's kind of impossible to see employers looking into resumes consistently, and to ask a disrespect question, such as if you were married, what your parents do, how your relationship's going with. That's what my countries are doing and asking. Also, I've got an interview opportunity with an investment consulting group that asked a dumb-ass question during the interview. The employer said, "Oh, we only accepted those who with a graduate degree, and unfortunately you've only had a bachelor one." I was like, "WTF, I didn't submit my resume to this company. It's the HR calling me to come." It's extremely disrespect to job-hunters. But, unfortunately, it really happens and just as usual to most of companies.

Luckily, Chinatrust is different. Its HR and supervisors are professional and respectful. They treat us like their family even though we aren't got an offers yet. They smile at us and teach those who have made a mistake in the interview. At the end, they send us a thank-you letter with sincere words. It's my honor to work and to contribute myself fully at this company.

Oh, yeah, I am done with my military service. It's time to travel around first and have a job later on.
Thanks to all of Shuang Feng Elementary's teachers and administrators. Because of them, I've got a wonderful year. God bless them and my trip!

The days of hunting a job in financial field is coming, but I've still got a lot to learn. Although I really don't like to work at a Chinese company, I have no choices. I can recall the scenes of "The Devil Wears Prada", the main actress said that she doesn't have choices if she likes to be an editor. Now, I am kind of having a same situation. I've got no choices to stay here since I know there are very few opportunities for me to get a job in New York, or even to get accepted by a famous business school. Wish I can have my year-plan accomplished.

Before entering the reality, I am going to have a 30-days least road trips, which I've been dreaming for a long time. In search of yelp.com, I've got many landscapes to go with friends. It's time for me to get back to my second home even it is just a vacation. Happy New Year to United States.

36 days! After 36 days, I will finish my military service which I owe Taiwan Government. One year ago, I was packing my stuff and ready to come back to Taiwan. Now, I will log it off soon. Time flies, and things changed rapidly. I feel very excited of entering into society, but a little sad about leaving the place where I've lived over 11 months. It's time for me to get a job and raise my families up, since they are getting older. But, before entering into society, I decide to have another road trip with my friend. We are currently having built up a 30-days schedule, from San Francisco to New York. The trip begins at San Francisco, and then head to LosAngeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, St Louis, Kentucky, Tennessee,  Pennsylvanian, Niagara Fall, Toronto, Boston, and finish at New York City. We've already spent 4 months scheduling this amazing trip. Hope it works.

I was told that one must do something that he/she never forgets in lifetime. When he/she recalls the scenes or the trips after years, he/she will smile and be proud of speaking to his/her children. I made a road trip alone last year and couldn't forget the journey anymore. I've been addicting of road trip and natural beauty.

Last Saturday, I went to National Palace Museum and Tamsui by myself, with a G15 camera that I bought as a gift for my mom. Also, I went to Tamsui Fisherman's wharf for its famous sunset scenery. I love journey. Journey is lovable. Having journey everyday makes me happiness and satisfaction.

I had a weird dream yesterday's night. It's a scene that I saw a girl, who is my high school's classmate. She is currently living in Australia. I haven't seen her for, at least two and half years. I've got no ideas why I dreamed of her. I've no clues for it. So, I checked her FB to see what she has been and done recently. Her optimistic side is still displaying in the photo with her ordinary smile.  Wish her get what she wants and have a great life in Australia. 

Recently, I've come to an outcome that my English isn't improving over past months. I've got troubles on writing an essay, or even a journal within 30 minutes. It's time for me to practice speaking and writing again. I remember I told myself if I should go to English pre-school when I went back to Taiwan. It's true since I am currently having troubles on doing something that wasn't a problem to when I was in United States. It's because I used it and listen to it everyday at that time. Now, I am kind of a little afraid of a regressive situation. Damn it. I've got to spend 5 minutes to even write a simple sentence. Maybe, it is time for me to read my previous essays, in order to retrieve my words back.

Eventually, the troublemaker is going to leave the school next week. So, we got a meeting today's afternoon, and some tasks were temporarily assigned to me before another accountant comes at 12/02. Hope the newly accountant can do things quickly and wisely, instead of fucking us up seriously. Actually, she has screwed us up many times over past months. As usual, she gives me trouble even she is leaving soon.

Counting the days I've been reminds me of the beauty of freedom. I've served in Shuang Feng Elementary school almost over 9 months. After two months, I will go to Hong Kong for one day and to USA for 30 days. In order to have a wonderful trip, I've got to complete a series of challenge assignments and short-term missions, such as obtainment of security's licenses. I've got 5 licenses out of 10's already. Hope I can pass at least 3 licenses more before logging out the alternative service. Omg, I am so expecting the days after military!!

I've made a decision for another American road trip with my best friend next year. Since I had a great experience last year, I've kept telling myself if I could do it again. It's excited after my best friend said that he would make it with me. So, I started to schedule the dates and places that are famous and interesting. Also, I just got my new passport and will buy a flight ticket. After checking with travel agency, I won't consider Delta in my list even if they are providing the cheapest flight tickets. Instead of routinely searching in kayak.com, I've checked hotwire.com, expedia.com and priceline.com at this time, in order to receive more information and to pick up the best package deal. I wanna appreciate at my best friend, who don't give too many opinions and is willing to discuss about the schedule with me. Thank to him so much.

Since I am currently serving at ShuangFeng Elementary school, I've filled up 8 licenses' examination forms and just passed two of them. It is necessary to be consistently giving myself challenges and difficulties. And I am able to compete with professional personnel. With Macro to Micro and Micro to Macro analysis strategy, I've set up a five-year plan for my physical and mental improvement. Obtained eight licenses' certificates is the first step in the rest of my serving period, which strengthens my portfolio. And then I've tried to research for the information about sectors and industries, like finance and tech. After military life, I will choose RA as my first career position, if applicable. This short-term execution hopefully works favorably.

It's hard to write a journal in English within 30 minutes now and looks like I should get time to practice, or saying, to hold my modest level of English.

Mo's last appearance in Yankees Stadium will be tonight. I wish I could be there enjoying the game with my cousin. As the greatest closer in Major League Baseball, Mo is one of my favorite players. Over the past 19 years, I've always been calm as Mo shows up at 9th inn. It is my pleasure to watch his games and to be his fan. I remember I bought the last game's ticket for 2012 season at very beginning of it since Mo asserted that would be retired after 2012 season. Unfortunately, Mo got severe injured and would be out of the season. I was like "holy fking shit, are you kidding me? and how could I sell this ticket out?" In the end, I sold it out and came back to Taiwan last year.

For severe injury, Mo is pending his retirement to the 2013 season. And, of course, he is still doing an amazing job for Yankees. I am granted these chances watching his games in my life. Wish I could see his pitch again in Yankees Stadium again in my life. Love Mariano Rivera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've improved myself a lot in the course of two months because of Chris Huang, who has been working for years in financial field. The job he is currently doing now is what I am learning and expecting to do in my life. Before meeting him up, I've reading companies' financial reports as to what actual profitability they are making. I was trying to check the degree of their financial leverage and interest coverage ratio, since I was interested in investing in their bonds. Although I've received a lot of recognition data, I am not able to make a decision because of experiences needed. I was focusing too much on so-called capitalization in financial report because it could be the major factor for corps to reduce their expenses purposely. Or, I was focusing too much on the revenue generated by employees, or the capital expenditures spent during a year. Indeed, these are important information that should be carefully examined by analysis. Still, I can't make a conclusion after collecting them. Now, because of Chris Huang, I've come to a little knowledge of evaluating and quantifying the information. Then, I analyze the effect of macro factors by using the industry ratio. After macro analysis, I check companies' competitors, supply chain, management and retails, which I call it micro analysis. At the end, I apply industry average PE ratio to its price, and then making sure if companies are on the track generating profit with stable expansion. If it is, the stock price may be positively effected later time when quarterly reports issued up. 

I've still gotten a lot to learn. Have to be much more stronger and better off in my financial knowledge, in order to fuck my competitors up and to show my competitive advantage.

I've come to a conclusion that people will never ever be loved if they don't love themselves. Some people who believe in showing their love to everyone think that is the best for our society. I was confused of this ideology over two months. But now, I gradually get understanding of it. Of course, we have to give our love before we get love from others, but we have to know if it is worth for. It is not about the money. It is just about the love whom I wanna give to. I can't help everyone, but I can't help the one I wanna help.

Recently, I've been through a real story that just happened to me. My friend and I were sitting and having our dinner in the Mos Burger. After 35 minutes, a homeless came in the store and sit next to our table. I didn't think that is a big deal to me. Everyone has his/her right to come to Mos Burger and have a seat. However, my friend, who speaks love everyday, resisted sitting over and like to move. It is fine to move to another table, but it is unnecessary to act out. That is why now I start to dislike the person who only speaks in a sage-like.

I've realized that I am just like an orphan in financial market. The knowledge that I learn from the school is just like a shit to those who have already been working in financial fields. I confess that I am kind of looking down on some, who are currently studying at college in Taiwan or already graduated, since most of them know nothing about the finance. Ironically, when I talked to experienced employees, they had same thoughts, thinking about who the fuck this guy is, stop trying to be professional here, that is kind of stupid to talk to. I swear that I get same idea when I talk to those who are actually specialized in nowhere. Hence, from now on, I will keep myself humble and stay foolish on everything, as Steve Jobs said in Stanford University.

I went to Kaohsiung with my cousin last weekend and visited some places which are meaningful to those who are generally old. The small decayed buildings are currently vacant and are waited to demolish by Government. My uncle said that was the places they had lived in their childhood. I've seen many paintings on the wall, which are just by an old man. Thereafter, it becomes a landscape in Kaohsiung even though it will be demolished soon. Wish that would not happen soon. All in all, this is an amazing trip and gets me exhausted.

Last Saturday, I went to 秘密基地 for Taipei city night view with my best friend. We had talked for a long time. Surprisingly, we both mentioned about the development of Taipei City in recent years and a ridiculous increase house prices. We worried that would ultimately cause financial market crash if house price started to fall. Compared to 5 years ago, current average house prices are almost quintuple higher. if a house is sold at $1,000,000 in five years ago, it can be sold approximately at $5,000,000 now. The reason is that our banks are only required 10% downpayment, a 90% LTV with an offered interest rate lower than 2%. For example, if we bought a $10,000,000 property, we have to pay $1,000,000 first and interest payment of $33,265.75 per month in 5 years.  After 5 years, it is sold at $50,000,000. By paying off residuals, we made up approximately at $40,000,000 profits. Well, consider interest payment, greater present value and inflation factors, investors have to pay in the total amount of principle, interest, and inflation approximately at $2,333,557.65. The total approximately profit is $37,666,442.35 and 3766.62%!!!!!!!!!!! That is why house market kept growing up persistently in recent years because almost everyone speculate house market. They know the they can't make this greater amount of profit just by work. For example, optimistically, high-tech engineers can earn $2,000,000 per year and beat market industry with an interest rate of 8% annually and effective rate of 8.3%, he has to spent 11.8 years without any living expenses to make $37,666,442.35.

So, I believe in a crashing house market soon or later if the situation isn't regulated or controlled by our Government.

Great! I met a girl, who is just right to me. I start to talk with and ask her out. And, then we had a dinner together. Everything looked fantastic. However, when she mentioned her constellations, I was out of mind. I just found out why I was crushing on her, cuz her reaction and talking are similar to yours. "Fking stupid" said to myself when I got home. I should have forgotten you supposedly, but why the girls I was aroused are always like you. So weird!

I was asked to write a "Recommendation Letter" for one resigning teacher, who worked at Shuang Feng Elementary School last year. He is currently looking for a job in California, USA. Fortunately, Cathay Bank is interested in and asked for a recommendation letter and a job reference. Since my boss didn't know what to write, she asked me and another teacher to do it. I was like, "What! Seriously, does a teller position request those things?" You must be kidding me." But, I had no choice cuz I am doing my education military service. I started to write and finished it within 3 hours. I am not sure if this could be a significant resource for him. Hopefully, a "Yes" could be given to even though I wrote something funny at the last question. Let's see what the result is. !!!
